Blessed with dazzling beaches and a sunny climate, Sydney is among the most beautiful cities on the planet.With 4.6 million people, Sydney is the biggest and most cosmopolitan city in Australia. A wave of immigration from the 1950s has seen the Anglo-Irish immigrants who made up the city's original population joined by Italians, Greeks, Turks, Lebanese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Thais, and Indonesians. This intermingling has created a cultural vibrancy and energy—and a culinary repertoire—that was missing only a generation ago.Sydneysiders embrace their harbor with a passion. Indented with numerous bays and beaches, Sydney Harbour is the presiding icon for the city, and urban Australia. Captain Arthur Phillip, commander of the 11-ship First Fleet, wrote in his diary when he first set eyes on the harbor on January 26, 1788: "We had the satisfaction of finding the finest harbor in the world."Although a visit to Sydney is an essential part of an Australian experience, the city is no more representative of Australia than Los Angeles is of the United States. Sydney has joined the ranks of the great cities whose characters are essentially international. Day 4 - Nouméa - New Caledonia

With its elegant urban infrastructure in a stunning natural setting, Noumea is a truly unique island and part of the New Caledonia archipelago. Noumea started as a penal colony, but has since evolved to a lovely metropolis and today has almost two thirds of New Caledonia’s population. While much of the archipelago of New Caledonia has a large percentage of Kanak people – the indigenous inhabitants who live in tribal areas across the country – Noumea is predominantly European with a strong French influence. The city’s center and Place de Cocotiers, the main park, are located close to the harbor and several churches date back to the late 19th century. Other attractions include a world-class aquarium at Anse Vata, several long beaches to the south, and a noteworthy collection of Kanak and South Pacific objects at the Museum of New Caledonia. The architectural gem of the city is the Tjibaou Cultural Center, the structure of which resembles sails, or the roofs of Kanak houses hidden behind mangroves.

Vanuatu is an island nation located in the southern Pacific Ocean. The archipelago, which is of volcanic origin, is approximately 1,090 miles (about 1,750 kilometres) east of northern Australia, approximately 310 miles (about 500 kilometres) northeast of New Caledonia, west of Fiji and southeast of the Solomon Islands, near New Guinea. Located on Mélé Bay along the southwest coast of Éfaté, Port Vila is the capital and largest city of Vanuatu, as well as its commercial and economic centre. Although Port Vila's British and French influences are apparent, its multinational population includes ni-Vanuatu, British, French, Chinese, and Vietnamese citizens. An active commercial port, the city is home to hospitals, hotels, casinos, markets and shopping districts, a sports stadium, cultural centre, teacher-training institution, campus of the University of the South Pacific, and several meat- and fish-processing plants. The municipality of Port Vila is divided into four wards, Malapoa-Tagabe, Anabrou-Melcofe-Tassiriki, Centre and South. The area occupied by Port Vila has been inhabited by Melanesian people for thousands of years. In 2004, an archaeological expedition unearthed a burial site with 25 tombs, skeletons and pieces of ceramic pottery dating from 1300 B.C. The Vanuatu Islands first had contact with Europeans in 1606 with the arrival of Portuguese explorer Pedro Fernandes de Queirós. Europeans did not return until 1768, when Louis Antoine de Bougainville rediscovered the islands. In 1774, Captain Cook called the islands the 'New Hebrides', a name that would last until their independence in 1980. In 1825, sandalwood was discovered on the island of Erromango, prompting a rush of immigrants that included Catholic and Protestant missionaries from European and North America, as well as settlers looking for land to farm cotton, coffee, cocoa, bananas, and coconuts. British subjects from Australia made up the majority of settlers, but the establishment of the Caledonian Company of the New Hebrides in 1882 attracted more French subjects. The land around Port Vila was converted into the municipality of Franceville in 1889. By the start of the 20th century, the French outnumbered the British, and the two nations agreed to govern the islands jointly by way of the British-French Condominium. During World War II, Port Vila was an American and Australian airbase. The New Hebrides National Party was established in the early-1970s. Renamed Vanua'aku Pati in 1974, the party pushed for independence. In 1980, amidst the brief Coconut War, the Republic of Vanuatu was created. The economies of Port Vila and Vanuatu are supported by the agriculture, offshore financial services and cattle industries. However, the abundant tropical beauty of Vanuatu has made Port Vila a popular tourist destination for outdoor and nature enthusiasts alike. Renowned for its tropical climate and exquisite, white-sand beaches and world-class fishing, the archipelago is a region of spectacular geographic diversity that includes spectacular volcanoes, mountains and valleys, along with idyllic jungles, rainforests, botanical gardens, mineral springs, and waterfalls. What's more, Port Vila offers easy access to exploring the city, Vanuatu and the offshore islands that comprise this wonderful South Pacific island chain. Port Vila consists of a diverse blend of Melanesian, Eastern and Western cultures that presents a unique opportunity to discover the people, traditions and history of Vanuatu. Cultural village tours are a fantastic way to meet the locals and experience indigenous lifestyles and customs through storytelling, music, dance, kava-tasting, and a traditional Melanesian feast. The evolution of Port Vila and Vanuatu can be explored during visits to the Vanuatu Cultural Centre and Museum features a collection of historical artefacts from the Vanuatu Island. Additional historic landmarks include Independence Park, the French and British residencies, Supreme Court, Georges Pompidou Building, World War I and II memorials, Tanna Coffee-Roasting Factory, and more. Vanuatu's verdant canyons, jungle-covered mountain peaks, volcanoes, waterfalls, botanical gardens, mineral springs, white-sand beaches, and rainforests invite a wide array of picturesque, memorable and exciting sightseeing venues for outdoor enthusiasts. Land-based excursions include bird-watching, bicycling and motor-biking, eco-tours, hiking through jungle and rainforest nature trails, horseback-riding at the nearby Sea Horse Ranch or Club Hippique Adventure Park, helicopter or seaplane flight-seeing, dune-bugging the beaches and jungles, 'zorbing' down the hillsides, abseiling down a cascading waterfall, volcano trekking and sandboarding, zip-lining through the jungle canopy, and golfing at the stunningly beautiful Port Vila Golf and Country Club, the only 18-hole championship course in Vanuatu and home to the PGA-sanctioned Vanuatu Open. Picturesque and fun-filled water-based excursions include swimming, boating and sailing along the exquisite coast of Port Vila and Vanuatu, deep-sea fishing for enormous dolphin, marlin, wahoo, dorado, tuna, swordfish, and sailfish, jet-skiing and high-speed jet-boating, stand-up paddle-boarding, surfing, kite-surfing, and parasailing. The archipelago also offers some of the world's finest snorkelling and diving at venues such as the Hideaway Islands Marine Reserves, JoJo Beach Club, Havannah Beach and Boat Club, and Iririki Island.Due to its compact size, Port Vila can be easily explored in just a single day.

Day 8 - Lifou Island - New Caledonia

Lifou is a commune of France in the Loyalty Islands of New Caledonia. Lifou is made up of two main islands - Lifou Island and Tiga Island- in additional to a number of uninhabited islets. Lifou Isand is the largest atoll in the world. The island is actually made of fossilized coral - known as a makatea. Lifou island does not have any surface water and it relies on a freshwater reservoir accessed by caves. Lifou Island is best known for its vast atoll (the largest in the world). This ring-shaped coral reef affords some of the best snorkelling in the world. Popular activities on this island include scenic walks, relaxing days on the beach, swimming and snorkelling. There are no organized tours being offered during this call to Lifou Island, guests may explore on their own.

To open the world—and palates—of our savvy travellers even more, we designed exciting new specialty restaurants found nowhere else at sea. Celebrity Edge offers not one but four complimentary main restaurants—Normandie, Tuscan, Cosmopolitan, and Cyprus. Every restaurant features the same mouthwatering menu that changes nightly, plus each one offers its own ambience, along with a selection of exclusive, regionally inspired dishes and drinks.

We may have reinvented the main restaurant experience, but we haven’t changed the way you plan your dining in our main restaurants. You can choose Celebrity Select Early or Late seating for your dining times, which allows you to enjoy dinner at the same table with the same waiter every evening. You’ll be assigned one of the four main dining restaurants, while having the option to dine in the other three upon request.

On Celebrity Edge, we offer Celebrity Select Dining Anytime. Select your dining time in any of the four restaurants and enjoy a change of scenery. There’s nothing traditional about Celebrity. With Celebrity Select Dining the choice of how you plan your evening meals is up to you.

Dear to our hearts, this restaurant represents our Greek heritage. We wanted to create a stunning atmosphere that would represent the Mediterranean fare served here, so we worked with world renowned designer, Patricia Urquiola. In Cyprus, the menu’s main focus is seafood and features simple, clean dishes that celebrate the food and beverages of the Mediterranean region.

We know our current main dining experience across our fleet is one of the reasons guests sail with us time and time again. To maintain this essence of the Celebrity dining experience on Edge, we created the Cosmopolitan Restaurant—the next evolution of our current main restaurants. The walk-through wine display at the entrance sets the scene for the creative cuisine within—new American with global influences.

With ties to our elegant Murano specialty restaurant on many of our ships and a nostalgic nod to Celebrity Summit® (wooden panels from the ship are incorporated into the design), Normandie Restaurant features contemporary French cuisine in a modern, upscale, refined space that evokes the romance of springtime in Paris. Above every deck of the ship exists an extraordinary, sky-high dining experience we call Dinner on the Edge. When the Magic Carpet ascends to the top of the ship, on special evenings embark on an exhilarating al fresco culinary journey that’s a feast for your eyes, your appetite, and your sense of wonder. Dinner at Eden Restaurant isn’t just a meal. It’s an extraordinary culinary journey, featuring an open kitchen, innovative dishes, and three levels of design excellence. Exciting new menus offer more appetisers, entrées, and desserts to create a new dining experience that will excite every sense. Our expertly executed dishes are as beautiful as they are delicious.

Tabletops come to life with a brand new Le Petit Chef experience—an animated fusion of entertainment and dining, featuring dishes such as filet mignon. This new animation begins with Le Petit Chef as a 12 year old boy, who meets a girl which later becomes his wife. They go on to marry, have children and grow old together. Their life and cooking is chronicled throughout each of the seasons.

Using both raw and refined elements with earth tones, pearlescent accents, and natural textures, we’ve created a sophisticated yet approachable restaurant. The dramatic raw bar display at the entrance showcases an abundance of oysters, crab, and lobsters to choose from. The menu, also available at the Magic Carpet® when positioned on deck 5, will feature more casual offerings like Shrimp Salad, our signature Lobster Roll and sushi and sashimi prepared by our expert sushi chefs.

A favourite gathering spot across our fleet, Café al Bacio, was one the biggest inspirations for designing the entire Grand Plaza. On Celebrity Edge®, Café al Bacio is more inviting than ever, with views of the Grand Plaza's ever-evolving action on the inside and the ocean and gorgeous places you'll visit on the outside. Settle into the comfortable seating, underneath a stunning glass art installation, and refuel with a cappuccino or white chocolate mocha, along with an array of sweets, from artisan cupcakes to a pistachio sable with lime white chocolate.

The fun starts at Camp At Sea, our onboard entertainment centre and program designed exclusively for kids ages 3 to 12. Open every day from 9:00am - 10:00pm, Camp at Sea offers kids the opportunity to participate in a number of entertaining activities, including treasure hunts, arts and crafts, sports, and theme parties, all under the supervision of our experienced youth staff. For our teen cruisers, the Teen Club is the place to be. At the Teen Club, they can make new friends and participate in events like video game competitions, teen parties, and culinary classes. Activities are overseen by our team of teen counsellors and offered throughout the day, allowing teens to come and go as they please.

Once again, celebrated architect Tom Wright put his creativity to work when we collaborated with him to design the Celebrity Edge main pool and surrounding areas. Now the outward-facing, terraced Pool Deck a is a stunning asymmetrical space that makes ocean views and landscapes the focal point.

At the centre of this space (but not the centre of attention) is a 25-yard lap pool, the largest in our fleet, featuring in-pool loungers. Positioned magnificently above the Pool Bar is an ever-changing LED light art installation.

Another attention-grabbing addition to the pool deck—and another first for Celebrity—are two striking, two-story martini hot tubs, that take unwinding at sea to new heights.

Just off the pool deck are the outward-facing, cabanas. Spacious (165 square feet) and airy (more than 18 feet high), these luxurious coves invite you to climb in and get lost in the plush seating and incredible views of the sea. At night, ambient lighting turns the cabanas into intimate spaces perfect for enjoying cocktails and the moonlight glimmering off the ocean.

Disabled Facilities

We provide boarding and departure assistance with wheelchairs to guests with mobility disabilities. We also provide assistance to guests who are blind. Request assistance once you arrive at the pier or contact us prior to your cruise so we may prioritise your assistance. During peak times, there may be a wait for assistance. Our crew members are not permitted to lift our guests.

Guests with mobility disabilities are offered quicker processing at the pier. If boarding has not begun, we will offer priority boarding.

If requested in advance, we can arrange for accessible transportation to transfer guests between the airport and the pier. This service is offered at no extra charge to guests who have purchased transfers. Please note that accessible transportation may be limited or not available outside the United States.

We provide complimentary wheelchairs for getting on and off the ship. If you require a wheelchair or scooter during the cruise, you can bring your own or rent one from a company that provides rentals for cruises.

You may bring and use wheelchairs, mobility scooters, walkers, canes and other assistive devices on board our ships. Due to safety reasons, Segways® may not be used on board.

We don’t require proof of disability such as medical certificates or disability placards. However, during the booking process, we will ask guests to attest to their need for the accessible stateroom.

We do not require guests with disabilities to travel with another person as a condition for traveling on our ships. However, our personnel are not required to perform personal tasks (e.g. assisting with eating, dressing, toileting or lifting) ,guests requiring assistance with these functions should consider these needs when making a booking. If there is a question about the guest’s fitness to travel without personal assistance, this must be discussed with our Access Department.

We accept service dogs. A service dog is defined as “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of a person with a disability.” Service dogs are not considered pets

Smoking Policy

For the comfort and enjoyment of our guests, our Celebrity ships are non-smoking. Hookahs and other types of water pipes are prohibited from use under this non-smoking designation.

Smoking is not permitted inside any stateroom or on any stateroom balcony. This applies to all stateroom categories onboard. Smoking is also not permitted in any dining venue, theatre, bar, lounge, hallway, or elevator; on the jogging track; or in most other indoor areas. Furthermore, smoking is not allowed in certain outdoor spaces, including restricted areas, food venues, and kids play areas and pools. If a guest is in violation of this “No Smoking” policy, a cleaning fee will be applied to their onboard account.

Because we recognise that some guests do smoke, we have designated smoking areas on the ship. These smoking areas are identified by signage, and ashtrays are provided in these locations for smoking use. Guests may inquire about the location of the ship’s designated smoking areas at the Guest Relations Desk.

In casinos on itineraries where smoking is allowed, there will be visible signage designating the areas for both smoking and non-smoking guests.

Cigar and pipe tobacco is limited to designated outdoor areas and cigar bars (if the ship has one). Electronic cigarettes or e-cigarettes are only permitted within the designated smoking areas.

Cigarettes, cigars, and pipe tobacco must be properly disposed of and never thrown overboard.

A guest must be at least 21 years of age to purchase, possess or use tobacco. During voyages that depart from international ports of call, local smoking laws will apply for the duration of said voyage.

Environment

Lighting

We’re replacing higher wattage halogen and incandescent light bulbs with longer lasting fluorescent and Light Emitting Diode (LED) lights throughout our fleet. Fluorescent and LED bulbs∘ require 80% less energy, generate 50% less heat, reduce energy consumption, last much longer and contribute to more efficient air conditioning due to the cooler bulbs.

Propulsion and Hull Design

A new approach to hull design and propulsion systems, resulted in significant energy savings. Ships equiped with Common Rail Diesel Engines reduce energy consumption and NOX emissions at all engine loads.

Heating, Ventilation, and AC

Our ships are equipped with the latest and most efficient air-conditioning equipment commercially available. Coupled with improvements in system design and automation.

Operation Conservation Measures

Our environmental policies guide both our shipboard and shoreside employees in beneficial environmental practices. Our crewmembers are an integral part of our energy-conservation efforts. Staff and guests are advised to turn off lights, water and appliances when not needed, adjust temperature thermostats to comfortable levels when no one is present and using towels and bed linens more than once before laundering.

Fresh Water Consumption

We ask our crewmembers and guests to help us conserve water whenever possible. To help reduce the energy needed to produce fresh water, we have installed water-reduction technology and appliances throughout our fleet to reduce the use of water-producing equipment that consumes fuel or electricity. These features include sink aerators, showerheads, reduced-flow dishwashers and low-consumption laundry equipment.

Advanced Wastewater Purification

We Installed Advanced Wastewater Purification (AWP) systems throughout the fleet. These technologically advanced systems clean the wastewater generated onboard our ships to create clean water that exceeds ship∘ wastewater discharge standards throughout the world.

Renewable Energy Sources

Our ships are equipped with solar power technology. The panels and the clean power they produce can help reduce the consumption of energy derived from fossil fuels. 500m2 of solar panels produce enough electricity to power a ship's guest elevators or approximately 7,000 LED lights.

High-Efficiency Appliances

We have installed high-efficiency appliances throughout the ship in order to minimize their impact on climate change and reduce our energy load. Every type of appliance onboard our ships is being evaluated for efficiency, including TV's, coffeemakers, ice makers, ovens and dishwashers.

Energy-Efficient Windows

Across the fleet we have applied window films that are specially glazed to prevent solar heat from penetrating, thereby reducing the amount of air conditioning∘ needed to cool the ship, thereby saving energy.

Hull Coatings

We apply new silicone paints on the hull, which are innovative and environmentally safe coatings that increase the smoothness of our ships' hull. By creating a smoother hull, we can reduce the amount of energy needed to travel through water.

Whatever the itinerary, destination, or occasion—when you pack, think “Relaxed Luxury.”

DURING THE DAY

SHORESIDE

For warmer climates, pack swimsuits and cover-ups, walking shorts and shirts that protect from the sun, lightweight slacks, skirts or sundress, and a light sweater or jacket. Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen are always encouraged.

For cooler climates, bring clothing with long sleeves, sweaters, and pants that can be layered. In areas prone to snow or rain, waterproof jackets, hats, gloves, and umbrellas are recommended.

Around the globe, consider appropriate shoes and gear for the excursions you have planned and the terrain you’ll encounter. For instance, you may pack water shoes if hiking a waterfall or a headscarf or conservative dress for visiting museums, mosques, temples, and churches.

SHIPBOARD

Throughout the ship, casual resort wear, sundresses, shorts, polos, or button-downs are appropriate, paired with sandals, low heels, and loafers. Make sure you bring active wear and sneakers if you plan to hit the gym!

Poolside, bathing suits with coverups, T-shirts, tanks, hats, and sunglasses are welcomed.

In main and specialty dining, we ask guests to refrain from wearing swimsuits, see-through coverups or robes, bare feet, tank tops, T-shirts, and baseball caps.

AT NIGHT

SMART CASUSAL

Smart Casual attire is required for entry to main dining, specialty dining, and the Celebrity Theatre. Smart Casual means you look comfortable yet tasteful in a dress, skirt, long pants, or jean, and stylish top or button-down. Shorts and flip flops are not considered Smart Casual.

EVENING CHIC

Each itinerary features one to two “formal” nights we call Evening Chic. Evening Chic means you dress to impress, glamorous and sophisticated in your own way, with a cocktail dress, skirt, slacks, or designer jean, an elegant dress top or blazer—some guests even pack a tuxedo or gown for onboard photos. The Daily program, delivered to your stateroom and available at the Guest Relations Desk, will be your guide to the correct attire each evening. If you do not wish to participate in Evening Chic, Smart Casual attire is acceptable for dining and theatre.

Wi-Fi & Internet Access

Wi-Fi services are available throughout the Celebrity Cruises® fleet, except for our Galapagos-based ships.  

Premium Wi-Fi Package

Post and share all your vacation memories on social media with Premium Wi-Fi. Message or video chat with your friends and family, browse the web, and send emails even with larger files attached. Plus, you can enjoy videos, movies, binge-worthy shows, and music on your favourite streaming apps.  

Basic Wi-Fi Package*

You can browse the web, send emails, and text family and friends via select messaging apps. It’s a great value option for staying connected while you’re on vacation, but please note that you won’t be able to email large files, share photos or videos on social media, use streaming apps, or make video calls.   

Age Restrictions

Infants must be at least 6 months old as of the first day of the cruise/Cruisetour. On some cruises/Cruisetours, infants must be 12 months old.

Alcohol Policy

Consuming alcohol to excess impairs one’s judgment and reduces one’s ability to recognize and avoid potentially dangerous situations. Guests who choose to consume alcohol must do so responsibly. The ship’s staff may, in their sole discretion, refuse to serve alcoholic beverages to any guest who does not consume alcohol responsibly. The ship’s staff may request proof of a guest’s age to verify they are of age to consume alcohol pursuant to this Policy. Adult guests are prohibited from providing alcohol to minors or young adults. All drinking games are prohibited.

A guest must be at least 21 years old to drink and/or possess alcoholic beverages on ships sailing from North America or the United Arab Emirates, and 21 is also the minimum drinking age for guests visiting our private destinations. The minimum age for a guest to drink and/or possess alcoholic beverages on ships sailing from South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand is 18. In all other cases, the drinking age of the home port shall determine the legal drinking age for the sailing.

Guests may contact Guest Relations or refer to the cruise information in their stateroom for minimum drinking age information specific to their cruise vacation.

For purposes of complying with the minimum age to drink and/or possess alcoholic beverages, a guest’s age is established at the beginning of the cruise vacation. If a guest celebrates their birthday during the voyage and becomes of age to consume alcohol while on the cruise, the guest may thereafter ask the Guest Relations Manager to modify the ship’s records to permit their consumption of alcohol during the remainder of the vacation. The guest will be required to appear at the Guest Relations Desk to present a valid government-issued form of identification to verify their age.

Guests are not permitted to bring alcoholic beverages onboard; with the exception of embarkation day when each guest (of legal drinking age) is permitted to bring onboard up to two (2) 750 ml bottles of wine (which are subject to a corkage fee) per guest. A corkage fee does not apply to guests with the Classic Beverage Package or Premium Beverage Package. Security may inspect containers (including water bottles, soda bottles, mouthwash, canteens, etc.) at any time and will dispose of alcohol concealed in such containers. Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports of call (which must be presented to security upon re-boarding), will be secured by ship's personnel. Alcohol secured by ship's personnel will be returned to guests just prior to the conclusion of their cruise vacation. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.

Alcoholic beverages that are purchased from onboard shops or in ports of call must be presented to Security upon re-boarding and will be secured by the ship’s personnel. Alcohol secured by the ship’s personnel will be returned to guests just prior to the conclusion of their cruise vacation. Guests who are under the permitted drinking age will not have alcohol returned to them.

Any guest who goes ashore and consumes alcohol (whether under the supervision of a parent/guardian or not) is responsible for ensuring they consume responsibly and retain the ability to recognise and avoid potentially dangerous situations when they return to the ship. Parents/guardians are reminded they are responsible for the actions of their minor and young adult children at all times while on a Celebrity cruise vacation.
